choir pt2 (9/27/26)

holy moly.

we arrive to the school holding auditions around 7am. rules state that no electronic devices are allowed until you leave the building, so i'm stuck there for hours with no entertainment ig. i'm an alto 2, and that group doesn't usually get called until after alto 1s. so i spent hours waiting and doing absolute bs with my friends.

eventually my number gets called (after 5-6 hours) and my choir claps for me as i walk off. im with another girl in my section as we wait to go audition, and we're both nervous asf. im eventually one away to go and the girl before my lowk ate it up. i get in that audition room and im so scared. my singing is so shaky and im js trying to hard not to mess up that i almost completely forget about dynamics☺️. HOWEVER the sightreading comes up AND I ACTUALLY COOKED SO HARD ON TS. I think i messed up on like one pitch and going from fa to re. that was embarrassing but i left the room w a 58/60 on sightreading so its fine. ALSO one of the songs was freedom train, one of my favorite pieces, and it was the last cut. my dumbass FORGOT TO MARK MY ENTRANCE. i ended up singing at the right time but i was panicking trying to get on time.

i left that room pretty anxious, but at least i got to see my friends again. my stomach hurt so bad for over an hour as we waited for auditions to finish. eventually we're on the bus and my director is calling out everyone who made it.

...

i got 3rd chair.

i actually cried. it's no 1st chair, but it's top 3, and i'm so incredibly proud of myself, especially since last year i got 6th chair. that and my whole section got top 10 and i was so so so proud of them. LIKE, ONE OF MY FRIENDS WAS RIGHT ABOVE ME IN 2ND I WAS SO HAPPY.

but yeah i got panda w my friend afterwards and had orange chicken before we went home. i fell asleep within an hour of being back.

yesterday was a good day:)
